An opportunity has arisen for a Research Fellow to join the Faculty of Medicine, School of Human Development and Health based at Southampton University Hospital Trust (Southampton General Hospital). This post will be part of a project which aims to identify the effect of a dietary supplement upon physiological and metabolic markers in (peri)menopausal women. This will be achieved through anthropometric data collection and biological assays including metabolomics. 

The post holder will have primary responsibility for conducting the human volunteer study, with significant support from the NIHR BRC Clinical Research Facility, also based at Southampton General Hospital. The post holder will also have primary responsibility for the collection and analysis of the biological samples, which includes metabolomic analysis.  The role will require regular presentations of the study and results to the research team and study funders, and at public and scientific dissemination events including (inter)national conferences.

This role requires experience in metabolomics. In addition, experience in human volunteer studies is also desired. The postholder will have good organisational skills to ensure that the study database and statistical analysis of the data is clear, quality controlled and accessible to other members of the research team. 

This full-time position is offered for a fixed-term until 31/12/2026.  The post will be aligned to the Faculty of Medicine, School of Human Development and Health based at Southampton University Trust (Southampton General Hospital).
