About the role – The role is part of a large collaborative project Ocean Refuel (Home | Ocean REFuel) looking to use hydrogen from offshore renewables and optimise its use in a decarbonising UK energy system . Your focus will be to explore (computationally) the most promising processes to form hydrocarbon blends from hydrogen and CO2. You will develop models of those processes and use them to conduct comparisons of their economic, technical and environmental performance. It is expected that the work will lead to publication and/or contribute to the dissemination at national/international conferences

About the team - The overall project team brings together scientists and engineers working across six leading UK universities and with a highly active Industry Advisory Board to ensure real-world relevance.

About you - You will:

•    Hold a doctorate in chemical engineering or a similar process-based discipline.
•    Have experience of creating and optimising chemical process models
•    Have a track record of publication
•    Be capable of managing your own work schedule and happy to carry out extensive liaison with other project members.
