This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.


Applications are invited for the role of Research Operations Officer in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences to provide expert administrative support for the Faculty’s portfolio of research funding activity from the application stage (pre-award) to the setting up of and monitoring of live projects (post-award). The role-holder will work under the direction of the Research Finance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in financial administration to join the Faculty’s dynamic Research Knowledge Exchange Team and contribute to the exciting Faculty research that takes place at the University of Nottingham.

You should have excellent numeracy and communication skills, and the ability to extract and interpret financial data for reporting. You should work well as part of a team and also be able to prioritise your own tasks and work to tight deadlines. You should have knowledge of the research funding landscape and an understanding of research funding costing models. Previous experience working in financial administration within the higher education sector is desired but not essential.

The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), permanent contract. However, we are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
