Do you have expert knowledge of research funding processes and regulations? Would you like to lead a team which contributes to the University’s strategic research objectives?

As a leader of the Faculty Research & Innovation Office (FRIO) team, you will provide high quality, customer-focused operational research support contributing to the strategic research objectives of the Faculty. In particular, you will be the Faculty contact and source of expert knowledge on all matters relating to University financial regulations and UK & Overseas Research and Knowledge Transfer (KT) funding applications. You will have full responsibility for all aspects of the operational pre- and post-award processes of the Faculty Research Office, liaising closely with the European Office, Contracts team, funders, research partners and Faculty Finance Office as appropriate.

You will have an extensive knowledge of research funding regulations and research administration software, alongside strong financial, project management and problem solving skills.  As an excellent communicator, you will be able to present detailed and complex information clearly, as well as influencing and negotiating with others.  You’ll also be skilled in leading and managing a team, and establishing good working relationships with a wide range of people.
