Waste and Recycling Operative (36 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

We have a vacancy for Waste and Recycling Operatives to carry out external cleaning, waste and recycling duties both internally and externally. The role involves emptying collection, transport and sorting of general waste and recyclable materials to agreed time schedules and the use of equipment such as balers and external cleaning equipment. This provides the opportunity to learn operational skills in relation to managing waste and recycling. Driving is required to move waste and recycling to bin compounds and consequently the successful candidate will have a valid driving license.  This post will be based at Highfield Campus (University Road, Southampton, SO17 1BJ) however you will be expected to work from multiple campuses and halls as required.

Pay will be £8.02 per hour. Operational & Community 1A. The university currently provides a non-contractual supplement to roles at this level to bring them in line with the Living Wage rate of £8.45 per hour.  Four weeks annual leave (plus 6 University days) Contributory Pension Scheme, supplied uniforms and a structured training scheme.
