Applications are invited to the above role to carry out maintenance and where necessary, the repair to component level of a wide range of electronic equipment within the School of Life Sciences. This post will involve the lifting and manual handling of apparatus and equipment on a regular basis.The role holder will undertake fault finding and repairs of a wide range of laboratory equipment including purified water systems, centrifuges & incubators along with equipment design.The role holder will also undertake duties to strip down and salvage of parts from any equipment beyond repair, especially for those instruments which are close to end of manufacturing life. Supplier liaison, spares purchasing, consumables monitoring is also required.

Candidates must hold City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering, an approved Engineering apprenticeship or Substantial work experience in relevant role, general computer skills covering Word, Excel and Outlook, the ability to work independently and part of a team to achieve agreed goals.

This is a full-time permanent role. Post is open to a job share. Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday 12th Dec 2017.
