A fixed term post for 9 months has arisen through a successful application to the Newton Fund/British Council in collaboration with a partner institution in Kenya (Mount Kenya University) on Pathogen Point-of-Care Analysis. The project runs until 31 Dec 2018. The aim of the project is the design and optimisation of microfluidic devices for detection of maternal pathogen infection. The successful candidate will be based at the University of Hull in the School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences joining the research group of Prof. Nicole Pamme, and will also work closely with the co-investigator on the project, Dr Alex Iles in Chemistry who manages our newly refurbished Lab-on-a-Chip Fabrication Facility. The candidate will join a vibrant cohort of PhD students, PostDocs and academics studying lab-on-a-chip devices for chemistry and life science applications.

The person appointed will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and experience in working with micofludic lab-on-a-chip devices including handling of particles or cells on-chip.
