Participation Giving Officer (PA5008-18-217)

Do you want to develop and make use of new and innovative fundraising methods to engage new donors, involving the students, staff and groups that will benefit in your campaigns? Our Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team builds relationships with alumni and a range of other potential supporters to raise philanthropic and volunteering contributions for the University of Brighton today and its future success. We are now looking for a proactive and flexible individual to play a key role in driving forward our fundraising and donor stewardship activities.

The Participation Giving Officer will develop a culture of philanthropic participation amongst alumni, friends, students and other audiences, generating a sustainable income stream via a programme of mass communications and campaigns that inspire more donors to give regularly to projects that resonate with them. The ideal candidate will have experience in telephone and direct mail fundraising and the creativity to help harness new opportunities to engage our audiences with philanthropy, for example crowdfunding and other digital routes.

This post will support the department in making a step-change in the level of philanthropic funds secured, both in the short and longer-term, in order to help achieve the university’s fundraising ambitions, in line with its strategy, Practical Wisdom. For us, creating knowledge is not enough – it is how this knowledge can be applied via our research and teaching and put to work for mutual benefit – for our community, our city, our region and globally.
