Assistant Professor in Fuel Science and Technology (ENG189618)

The Faculty of Engineering are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor to support the development of research in the Cleaner Fossil Energy and Carbon Capture Technologies Research Group.The applicant should be capable of contributing to the group’s vision to be central to accelerating the development of the next generation of more efficient CO2 capture, and to expand the range of cleaner technologies for coal, biomass and waste utilisation. The successful candidate will develop an independent research programme that complements our current grant portfolio including projects in the areas of biomass and waste conversion, alternative fuels, carbonisation phenomena, analytical pyrolysis and CO2 capture and undertake a significant level of PhD supervision.

The successful applicant will have a proven publication track record, a proven record of successful PhD supervision student record and be able to contribute to maintaining and expanding the extensive facilities with the Group. It is expected that the successful candidate will be based in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and expected to deliver relevant teaching on aspects of energy and geoenergy, including Power Generation/CCS and Fossil Energy Resources modules and run undergraduate and MSc project that utilise the extensive modern facilities in the Research Group.
