The University of Hull has recently made a significant investment in Mathematics and the section is rapidly expanding. The University has also created a high-performance computing facility (VIPER), ensuring the University has international competitive computing power. The mathematics section is in the recently formed School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences which includes Physics and Chemistry. A new, revitalised, undergraduate curriculum was introduced for mathematics from 2016. To support our excellent delivery of learning and teaching we are seeking to recruit a Teaching Fellow in Mathematics.


The successful applicant will be required to contribute to the teaching of mathematics, with expertise in a selected area. They will have good communications skills and be enthusiastic to teach students with a wide range of abilities. Duties will include contributing, convening and delivering both new and existing courses, tutorials, workshops, academic support and some academic administration.


Applications are particularly welcome from women and minority groups, who are under-represented in academic posts in STEMM. We are currently applying an Athena SWAN Bronze Award for the newly formed School and have signed up to London Mathematical Society as Supporters of the Good Practice Scheme.
