Digital Transformation Director (050318)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and energetic Programme Director to a senior position to lead delivery of our Digital Strategy, called ‘Surrey Digital Advantage’.  The purpose of the role is to bring the Digital Strategy to life, driving digital maturity, promoting an innovative delivery culture and leading an ambitious portfolio of digital programmes which support the Surrey Digital Advantage strategy. The strategy is at an early stage of definition and scope and the initial objective will be to work with the CIO to develop the strategic programme, creating a prioritised delivery plan for projects in flight and new initiatives within the digital portfolio.

The Digital Transformation Director will have authority to prioritise scope and resources within the digital portfolio and related resource teams. They will have access to senior executives and stakeholders and be expected to represent the Digital Strategy within the University and externally with gravitas and charisma.

This role involves setting up a transformation team consisting of various skills and resources to support delivery of the strategy, establishing a virtual team of internal and external resources to deliver the programme over the next 3 years. They will develop and own an overall portfolio plan to join up all digital projects and programmes, identifying synergies and opportunities for resource, capability and/or knowledge sharing across the portfolio.

This is a key strategic appointment for the University, and the right candidate will create momentum and drive to take Surrey forward to achieve our digital ambitions for the future.
