Category: Academic | Faculty/Division: Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences | School: School of Education and Social Work | Department: Secondary and Post Compulsory Education | Location: City South Campus | Post Type: Full Time | Closing Date: 03 Aug 2018 |   The School of Education and Social Work is developing its portfolio and is seeking to appoint a Lecturer 1 x FTE fixed term (1 Year to cover a secondment).  The  will be aligned predominantly, but not exclusively, to the work of the Department of Childhood Youth and Community and will be expected to be actively involved in teaching and learning on, and the development of, each of the undergraduate programmes across the department. Currently this includes BA Hons Education Studies, BA Hons Working with Children Young People and Families and BA Hons Early Childhood Studies. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the team delivering and developing these programmes both at home at our recently developed City South Campus, and overseas with our international partners in Singapore and China.  In addition, there are opportunities to contribute to a range of Masters programmes and Research and Enterprise, which could include CPD and collaborative partnerships. The role involves the development of excellent teaching and learning materials, marking, moderating and assessing students, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting students’ pastoral, learning and assessment needs. The successful candidate will be demonstrating excellent subject knowledge in relation to the core programmes in the Department and a commitment to inclusion and social justice. Experience of teaching in Higher Education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level is preferred, but early-career applications are also warmly encouraged. A first degree is essential, completion of, or commitment to undertake doctoral study is desirable, as is a commitment to research.
