Assistant Professor (RT5E): Salary £35,550 - £47,722 per annum

Associate Professor (RT6): Salary £50,618 - £60,410 per annum

Applications are invited for the academic post of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the George Green Institute for Electromagnetic Modelling. The post has been created to support and grow research activities in one of the areas of interest in the George Green Institute. We are seeking an exceptional candidate who aspires to be an international leader in one of these research areas.

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent and post-doctoral academic research experience in a relevant field. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in one or more of the following areas: wave propagation, communication systems or lightning behaviour in aerospace applications. 

This is a full time, permanent position available from 01 October 2018.

It is also essential that the candidate has proven experience in research leadership and a proven track record in project management. The successful candidate will also contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which will include lectures, tutorials and the supervision of project work in communication systems. The person appointed will be expected to apply for and obtain external funding to enable development of new and independent research. Good communication and organisation skills are also required.
