Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor in Accounting (Research and Teaching) OR Assistant Professor in Accounting (Teaching Focused), one post available, based in the Accounting Division at Nottingham University Business School.

Assistant Professor in Accounting (Research and Teaching)

The person appointed will be expected to engage in high quality research and to contribute to teaching on the range of programmes offered by the School at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He/she will also be required to make an appropriate contribution to administration.

Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, together with significant teaching experience in financial accounting and/or management accounting at HE level. They should have excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in one or more of the following subject areas: financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate an ability to publish in high quality journals in any area of Accounting as well as the ability to develop their own research area and flexibility to collaborate with colleagues.

Assistant Professor in Accounting (Teaching Focused)

The person appointed will be expected to contribute to teaching on the range of programmes offered by the School at undergraduate and postgraduate level and support professional development and executive education courses. He/she will also be required to make an appropriate contribution to administration.

Candidates should have a PhD (or be close to completion or have equivalent senior level education experience) in a relevant area together with teaching experience at HE level in relevant subjects. He/she should have excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in relevant subjects across the areas of Accounting, but especially in one or more of the following subject areas: financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation.

Members of the Division are expected to engage in subject, professional and pedagogical research as required for their role - supporting teaching and development activities, and disseminating knowledge to the wider academic community where relevant.

This is a full time, permanent position.
