Description :

The University of Surrey is a top ten UK University set in a beautiful campus half an hour’s journey from the centre of London.  Surrey is rated highly for teaching, the University has a Gold TEF award, and the School of Psychology was rated 9thin the country in the recent National Student Survey.  As part of a growing School you would be joining Surrey as a Senior Lecturer as one of a new cohort of ‘rising star’ research- active psychologists with emerging international profiles.   This post is part of our five-year strategy to further build research aimed at releasing the life-long potential of the human brain, addressing inequalities of development, dealing with changing society, risks, environment and communities, and intervening to support vital, healthy and creative lives.  We seek to appoint a future research leader in the neurosciences to join our Brain and Behaviour Research Group. We welcome applicants from all areas of neuroscience though we particularly welcome those with an interest in developmental neuroscience.

The School is currently undergoing a major refurbishment to enhance our environment including the on-site laboratories for EEG, tDCS/tACS, fNIRS and TMS research. There is shared access to fMRI facilities via the CUBIC consortium.  There is an excellent Babylab with eye-tracking facilities and we have our own driving simulator.  The successful candidate would be expected to conduct their own research and to collaborate with others both within the School, across the Faculties as well as other institutions to seek funding to support their research.

Surrey Psychology is highly rated for teaching with very high student satisfaction and provides placements with many existing community, business and NHS partners.  All academic post-holders will contribute directly to teaching and learning and to its administration within the School.

In addition to salary you will receive a generous annual leave entitlement and excellent development opportunities.  The benefits package includes relocation provision, pension, childcare assistance and other family-friendly policies.
