Description :

Applications are invited for a British-Council-funded, part-time post-doctoral position within the project Field-based phytohormone phenotyping to select climate resilient cereal varieties. Your work will sample plant tissues at specific phenological stages at Peru-based field experiments, and analyse their phytohormone status at Lancaster. You will train visiting Peruvian early career scientists at Lancaster in techniques to measure plant and soil water status, plant physiological responses and phytohomone measurements.A primary mission to enhance the capacity of collaborating early career scientists to independently conduct their own research. You will present your research at project meetings and at national / international fora.

You will work closely with the group of Prof. Dr. Luz Rayda Gomez-Pando at the  Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (Lima, Peru).  Project meetings will be timed to coincide with field campaigns in Peru. The position is available to scientists with a PhD in plant sciences, with experience of working in both field and laboratory environments.
