The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Head of Finance to focus on our Commercial and Special Projects areas. You will report into our Deputy Director of Finance and be a Senior Finance Partner to our newly appointed Commercial Director. Your main responsibilities will include providing insight, support, and challenge, to drive the financial performance of our commercial activities and to develop new commercial ventures. Leading Special Projects, you will support the University community in developing plans for continuous improvement in our finances to create investment for our priorities in research, teaching, staff and students (Continuous Improvement Plan).
As the successful candidate in this newly created role, you will have the ability to be a proactive and ambitious finance professional, with the desire to drive change and develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders across our University. The Higher Education Sector is going through a period of significant financial change, as such, we will need you to develop our finances, and create investment for our Continuous Improvement Plan.
Your work with our Commercial Director will focus on driving the University’s commercial enterprises and delivering financial insights, including investment appraisal of potential new ventures. You will also be the Finance lead for the Better Buying work-stream, developing processes and reports to drive, and improve, financial and operational performance to deliver best value for our University.
