Description :

Are you an innovative and enthusiastic developer looking to join a likeminded team committed to the continuous delivery of high value features to develop the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment used by Lancaster University.

We work in a purpose-built computer centre and have a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement and staff development.  You will focus on further development of Moodle as well as a variety of other related web-based systems, contributing to our exciting “Digital Lancaster” plans to maximise the opportunity for the exploitation of digital technologies to enhance learning and teaching.  To see more about what it’s like to work at Lancaster, (flexible working opportunities, flexible benefits, generous holiday entitlement, click this link).

You should have an understanding of contemporary web and database technologies, and experience of application development in a mainstream programming language.  You should display a willingness to learn.  Experience of delivering applications and building interfaces between disparate applications would be an advantage, as would experience of agile software development methods (e.g. Scrum).

You must have enthusiasm and a demonstrated capability for problem solving, developing new competencies, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and work well in a team.

If you would like further information and an opportunity to discuss the role, please contact Steve Powell, Corporate Information Systems on +44 (0)1524 510654.
