A position is available in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Southampton for a Research Fellow.  The position is based at Aldermoor Health Centre in the School of Primary Care and Population Sciences, and is funded by the Chiropractic Research Council, UK.  The post holder will work on a range of research projects involving models of MSK care delivery involving chiropractors within or aligned with primary care. Working with a senior research fellow already in place, the post holder will primarily be responsible for planning, conducting and delivering high quality research aligned to this theme.

You will be educated to degree level and must have either a PhD in a musculoskeletal or health-related area or an equivalent professional qualification and experience in a musculoskeletal or health-related field.  You will have relevant professional and/or clinical experience involving chiropractors and previous experience of working on health-related studies utilising quantitative or qualitative data analysis techniques is essential. You will possess excellent organisational, communication and IT skills, and must have experience of effectively working as part of a team.  It is desirable that you have a track-record of research outputs (e.g. publications, presentations, thesis/dissertation, and public engagement activities in the MSK research field). 

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

This post is part time (2 days per week) for a period of 24 months and is available from the 1st October 2019.
