Category: Student Placements | Faculty/Division: Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment | School: Engineering and the Built Environment | Department: Engineering and the Built Environment | Location: City Centre Campus (Millennium Point) | Post Type: Full Time | Closing Date: 25 Aug 2019 | Please note this position is only open to students studying at Birmingham City University within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE) The School of Engineering and the Built Environment (EBE) is seeking to appoint an undergraduate student to undertake a 12 month work placement to support the population and testing of resource management software. The successful candidate will have completed year two of a relevant degree. The role includes: Collating existing resource management data from a number of sources and in different formats, identifying gaps in the data, producing reports for the technical manager, and working with the technical team to address those gaps. Preparing the data in a format suitable for import into resource management software. Developing processes to continue harvesting dynamic data for import from existing university databases into the system. Writing a final report outlining the benefits of the system to technical resource management for CEBE. Other administrative tasks as directed by the technical manager. Supporting Open Days, Applicant Visit Days and other course related events. The position will involve flexible working as required, occasionally including evenings and weekends. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be a student on a programme of study that relates to management of data. Strong technical, communication, problem solving and presentation skills will be advantageous for this role. This post is only open to candidates already resident and studying on an undergraduate course in CEBE.
