Category: Admin/Clerical | Faculty/Division: Faculty of the Arts, Design and Media | School: Birmingham School of Architecture and Design | Department: Birmingham School of Architecture and Design | Location: Parkside | Post Type: Full Time | Closing Date: 19 Sep 2019 |   The Birmingham School of Architecture and Design is looking to recruit a permanent School Coordinator. If you’re customer-focused, quality-driven and keen to follow a professional career within administration with clearly defined career paths and opportunities, there’s never been a better time to join us. You will report directly to the Administration Team Leader and other administrators, academics across the various courses in the School, and particularly with the Head of School in terms of the day to day operation of the School, finances, and assisting with other key responsibilities of the Head of School. You will be providing proactive support for a range of administrative tasks on a daily basis. With the busy academic calendar to follow and a rapid, ongoing change programme, rarely will two days be the same, you will help support areas such as budget monitoring, diary management, and co-ordinating travel arrangements.  In addition, you will be involved in record keeping and assisting with the preparation and running of Committee meetings. You will also be tasked with the purchase of small items to support both academic delivery and the School office. You'll be expected to work on your own initiative, maintain high standards of administration and resolve issues in a swift, calm and professional manner. You will also be expected to cover the work of other administrative colleagues in their absence when required. You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) coupled with proven administrative, IT and customer service experience within a complex environment. You'll need to have excellent IT skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Whilst it's not essential, any experience of budgetary administration, purchasing, and the organizing of overseas travel would be desirable. Your drive to deliver superb customer service and your exceptional communication skills alongside your ability to act as a team player and manage your workload will be what sets you apart. As this post requires you to interact with a range of senior personnel, external staff and students, you must appear professional, courteous and confident at all times. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community. As part of your application, please attach your CV and upload your cover letter.
