Description :

Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge?  Do you have a background in pharmacology and/or biochemistry?  Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

Are you looking to develop your professional skills and be a key contributor to a signal transduction project in immune-mediated diseases?

Based in state-of-the-art laboratory space, and under the supervision of Dr. Natalia Riobo-Del Galdo, you will contribute to ground-breaking research aiming to understand the signalling pathways of co-stimulatory ligands in the context of autoimmune diseases.

The research project, funded by an industry partner (Kymab Ltd.), will be performed in mammalian cells in culture and will involve pharmacological manipulation and protein/RNA-seq analysis. You will be expected to carry over the experimental aspect of the project as well as essential lab duties necessary for the success of the project. You will work closely with other members of the lab, participate in group discussions, present your own work and will be a key contributor to the overall success of our research.

We are looking for a Research Assistant with a background in Pharmacology, or in a closely allied discipline. You will have extensive practical experience in cell culture, nucleic acid and protein isolation, handling, purification and quantification.

The University of Leeds and the Faculty of Biological Sciences are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offer a range of family friendly policies. The University is a charter member of Athena SWAN (the national body that promotes gender equality in higher education), and the Faculty of Biological Sciences was reawarded a Bronze award in 2017.  We are proud to be an inclusive Faculty that values all staff, and are happy to consider job share applications and requests for flexible working arrangements from our employees.
