Are you an innovative, influential Category Manager who is capable of working independently at a senior organisational level? Do you have experience of leading strategic procurement projects specifically in Capital Equipment and Laboratory Categories, managing complex information and working with multi-disciplinary stakeholders to strict deadlines?

As a Category Manager for this spend area you will responsible for a range of expenditure categories and for achieving value for money for goods and services within the allocated categories, which are procured by Faculties and Services across the University.  You will be responsible for managing relationships with senior managers, internal stakeholders and key suppliers. 

The core focus of this role will be to lead procurement projects and the development and implementation of procurement plans and strategies for key areas of non-pay expenditure maximising value for money through sustainable, efficient and effective practices including the management of risks and compliance with Public Procurement Regulations 2015.

This will be achieved by working with and influencing key stakeholders representing specifiers, budget holders and consumers from across the University. The Category Manager will be accountable for delivering agreed goals and objectives including cost reduction targets.

A key role will be market, supplier and spend analysis and benchmarking of current costs and projections against best in class pricing and performance together with the dissemination of this information across the University such that all buyers understand what they are paying and what goods and services should cost.
