Description :

The Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Southampton is a community of scholars, archivists, librarians and students from different disciplines. The institute is named after the Reverend Dr James Parkes, who campaigned, as early as the 1920s, against the rise of racist nationalism in Europe. One of the key aspects of the Parkes Institute’s activities is to continue, through research, education and public engagement, the fight against antisemitism and all forms of racism.

As part of its outreach programme, supported by the Karten Charitable Trust, and in order to have a stronger digital presence, the Parkes Institute is seeking to recruit a digital coordinator. The main task of the coordinator will be to turn the Parkes website into a portal of resources, including podcasts and interviews. They will also develop our social media presence in order to reach a wider audience and promote the work of the Parkes Institute. This will include producing a short film on the life of Dr James Parkes, developing a You-Tube channel and monthly newsletter.

You need to have experience in digital and marketing media, interviewing and marketing communications.
