The University of Nottingham is one of the UK's leading research universities. This post offers you the opportunity to work within a busy animal research facility supporting technical staff by cleaning and preparing equipment for use and ensuring exacting hygiene standards are maintained, including operating and maintaining modern sterilisation equipment. In addition accurate record keeping, plus maintaining and ordering stocks of consumables and basic equipment, forms part of this role.

As the successful candidate, you must be able to undertake responsibility for your area of work and be able to work with minimum supervision after receiving initial training. Cross-site working will be required and you must be able to make deliveries across the campus with University vehicles.

Candidates must have good communication skills and should have a good standard of education with a minimum of a good standard of education evidenced by a minimum of 3 GCSEs (grade C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English OR previous work experience in a relevant role e.g. laboratory assistant. 

Hours of work are 36.25, Monday to Friday inclusive.  Weekend and Bank Holiday working is required on a rota basis.  The posts will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 26 March 2021. Job share arrangements may be considered.
