Due to the expansion of the Nursing Associate Programme, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the existing Nursing Associate teaching team, as a committed and passionate Senior Lecturer/Senior Teaching Fellow.  The department is seeking candidates who uphold the overall mission of the University by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities, promoting academic enquiry and advancement of knowledge

The two year Foundation Degree Nursing Associate course was developed to support the introduction of a new nursing role and is a work based learning course aimed at experienced Health Care Assistants and new to care learners who want to develop themselves to become a Registered Nursing Associate (NAR). As a member of the Nursing Associate team, you will support the delivery and organisation of a range of modules on the Nursing Associate course. You will work flexibly, contributing to innovative teaching, learning and assessment to support a high quality trainee experience. You will visit the clinical work areas undertaking the academic assessor role and providing guidance and support to learners and the practice supervisors/ assessors. 

You will be required to demonstrate relevant and current experience of supporting undergraduate students/trainees/ apprentices in clinical and educational settings. Applicants must hold current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Part 1). Previous teaching experience in a Higher Education setting is a requirement with a teaching qualification. A first degree is essential and you must possess a Masters qualification or be working towards other postgraduate study in order to fulfil the requirements for the post and you will be expected to contribute towards our research and scholarly activities. You should also be able to demonstrate on-going personal and professional development as well as demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong IT and organisational skills.
