It is the home of the UK’s Epic Games Centre and the university has won national awards for educational initiatives with the Games Industry.

The area of Concept Art for Film and Games has seen a rapid expansion, so we are looking an enthusiastic, positive candidates with a “can do attitude” to join the exciting and successful Department of Games and Visual Effects, within The School of Computing and Digital Technologies. 

We are looking for experienced candidates in Concept Art for Games and Film who have demonstrable excellence in

Conceptualising and illustrating assets including environments, characters and vehicles

Using Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush and other 3D/2D applications

Understanding of form and function, value, colour, lighting, atmosphere and emotion

Willingness and ability to develop an awareness of games and film art pipelines, significantly how concept art fits in to the wider games and film art process such as producing model sheets and blueprints.

You would be expected to engage with enterprise activity, as well as developing your individual research and university research profiles. You will also be expected t to engagement with school and college outreach and general recruitment activities. We ensure the success of our courses through constant meaningful collaboration with the games industry, which you will be a part of.
