We are seeking an engineer to develop a AR/VR hardware for robotic and autonomous systems to allow space robots operate at E4 level on-board (or goal-oriented autonomy) and to achieve resilient performance in extreme, partially-known, and dynamically-changing environments through verifiably safe/optimal plans.   

The Key job responsibilities are to:

Provide hardware development support to the CAV Lab ADSS project to ensure the successful development of an AR/VR system for predictive monitoring Ensure that all hardware development is technically appropriate for the ADSS project, seeking support from the Laboratory Technician where required. Co-define and co-design the technical requirements and specifications for the project, supporting the Project lead to deliver the key performance indicators as required for the ADSS project and working in partnership with the industrial partner. Ensure that the assembly, integration and testing of the VR/AR hardware is managed within a timely manner and in accordance with pre-defined specifications Ensure that any AR/VR industrial practices and standards for the ADSS project are implemented and adhered to.

The successful candidate must have:

A Bachelor or master degree in AI/Machine Learning, Mechatronics, Robotics or a closely related discipline Experience in programming (MATLAB, Python, or C++) Experience in software and hardware development  Capability of offering original and creative thoughts
