The senior finance officer will provide a financial and accountancy service for the directors and other staff to ensure that the financial aspects of projects/partnerships are developed, monitored and controlled with the minimum of risk to the University. 

 

The core part of this role will be managing all financial transactions relating to the projects, maintain financial records, audit records and complete funding claims to deadlines.

 

The successful candidate will work within the organisation and operation of financial systems within the FPR Project Team, as well as producing monthly management accounts.

 

Reporting to the Business Partner, the Senior Finance Officer will work with members of the University at all levels advising on financial processes, budgets and deadlines as well as liaising with project partners including staff in faculties and other external organisations.

 

You will be a part-qualified accountant (working towards or have completed an accountancy qualification) or have previous relevant experience of working in a project finance role. Significant financial experience in university financial procedures and systems is essential.  The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills, be experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel for manipulating numerical data and be able to work to tight deadlines
