Research Associate (3 Years, Fixed Term) (SB7644)

Applications are invited for a highly motivated and ethical Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the GCRF-ESRC funded project: JustEd: Education as and for Environmental, Epistemic and Transitional justice to enable Sustainable Development. Through a mixed-methods design, we aim to understand how secondary school learners' knowledge and experiences of justice can act as drivers for the Sustainable Development Goals related to peace and climate change in Western Nepal, Andean Peru and Northern Uganda. The project will focus on three types of justice – ‘environmental justice’ (addressing the balance of human and environmental rights); ‘epistemic justice’ (tackling unfairness in learning, and who holds ‘knowledge’); and ‘transitional justice’ (repairing wrongs of the past).

The post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your research skills working on an international collaborative project in an active research environment. You will join a team of interdisciplinary researchers from Gulu University, Tribhuvan University, GRADE Peru and University of Bristol. 

 We are looking for someone with a PhD in a relevant field, knowledge of mixed-methods research and experience of project management, ideally in an international context. You must have expertise in one of qualitative or quantitative data analysis and be willing to learn the other. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate to academic and non-academic audiences, confidence in working independently, and willingness to travel to Peru, Nepal and Uganda are also required.
