We are recruiting Human Resources Business Partner to join our team, reporting to a Senior Business Partner and working with a portfolio of customers. 

You will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of employment law and a track record of generalist experience.

As an HR Business Partner, you will be confident and assertive, with an outgoing personality and an informal, yet professional style. You must be able to communicate and coach effectively to all areas of the business; colleague to leadership.

Understanding and delivering the operational focus for the University, you will be an exemplar of the our values and behaviours.

Just some of the key activities that you can expect to participate in:

Providing a wide range of HR guidance and support to staff and managers.Although this isn’t a strategic role you’ll have the opportunity to support areas of HR activity in developing the University strategy and approach, and ensuring high standards of service are in place to enhance the overall employee offering.Delivering effective change management and working closely with line managers to solve people issues and drive performance in line with organisational objectives.Owning and managing the quality of employee relations cases across your area, including delivery of management training and informal coaching on capability, disciplinary, grievance and absence matters.Supporting the development of Local People Strategies for your customer portfolio.

Essential Requirements

Associate Member of the CIPD (Assoc. CIPD) or eligible to achieve this status.Experience of providing proactive and professional HR support and advice to a diverse workforce.Solid ER casework experience, with a depth of knowledge and experience of handling complex cases.A natural communicator and relationship builder with the ability to balance process and business need.Experience of using HR databasesExperience of researching and developing HR policies and procedures, and conducting equality impact assessments.Proven track record and commitment to own CPD activities.Strong IT skills including Microsoft office and HR information systems. Competence in the use of Excel to support the development of accurate and useful management information.
