The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, a pioneer in Sino-foreign tertiary education, is rapidly expanding.  It is looking for ambitious, talented academics with a passion for teaching as well as research flair to join its team of science and engineering experts. UNNC is part of the University of Nottingham’s Global University, and offers unique teaching and research opportunities in a highly dynamic economy.

The primary purpose of the role will be to undertake teaching and provide advice as a member of a teaching team within the School of International Studies for the fall semester of 2020-21.   The successful candidate will need to have a PhD in hand or be a PhD close to completion, with some teaching experience in either case.  Expertise/training in history is needed, and knowledge of contemporary European history and core history concepts and methods is an advantage, but training specific to the subjects at hand can be provided to the right candidate.  The role holder will teach seminars under the leadership of offsite module convenors who cover the lectures for the following courses (modules): The Making of Contemporary Europe (undergraduate), Dissertation: Preliminary Analysis (methods, undergraduate, history components), and Core Concepts (post-graduate, history components).  

Salary will be within the range of RMB 323,198 to RMB 440,485 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). 

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of one semester (fall 2020), starting 1 September 2020, ideally. This contract may be extended into the spring semester if needed, by mutual agreement.
