This is an exciting position at an International University based in a City, which is a World Heritage Site, for any applicant that is looking to help and support students and staff within a Higher Education setting. The position covers the main University campus and City campus buildings off site, including accommodation and other buildings. In addition, duties will include visiting private residences, to investigate community complaints involving members of the University community, within the City of Bath and surrounding area.

With the  support of the Security team, the post holder is responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout the campus and City campus and to proactively ensure compliance of University protocols and policies, especially around COVID and anti-social behaviour. There will be a requirement to visit private residences to investigate and enforce breaches of University policies, which impact on the local community.

The role is strongly customer focused and you must demonstrate an ability to perform well within a team and also be able to demonstrate the use of initiative whilst working alone when dealing with critical incidents and challenging situations. You must have personal robustness, tolerance and understanding. You will need to demonstrate initiative, a high level of common sense and practical ability in dealing with confrontation and challenging situations.   

The applicant is required to have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with a diverse International community, providing understanding, support and outstanding customer service.

You will be expected to be computer literate and able to operate a number of software packages both bespoke to the University as well as more general software, but training will be given as required.  

The post holder must hold a full manual driving licence for manual motor cars.

The appointment will be made subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance being obtained.

The basic working week is of 38.5 hours. (36.5 hours + 2.0 hours contractual overtime and will attract a 15% Rotational shift allowance).

The vacancy is initially for a fixed period of three months, but may be extended.
