The primary role will be to provide methodological support and advice on medical statistics to researchers working in the field of hearing and deafness as part of the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide advice on a range of analysis methodologies relevant for medical research including clinical trials and applied health research. The successful candidate will also assist researchers in developing the statistical aspects of high quality applications for submission to national peer reviewed funding streams.

The role will also involve participating in collaborative research, designing, analysing and interpreting the statistical components of studies in the field of hearing. The post holder will be expected to participate in other activities such as assisting with the delivery of workshops and seminars.

Candidates should hold a higher degree or equivalent in medical statistics, epidemiology, health services research, or clinical trials research. Candidates should have specialist knowledge in applied health research methods and medical statistics and excellent knowledge of a range of statistical software; e.g. Stata, SAS, SPSS . Candidates should also have experience in collaborative applied research including experience of providing input into the design and analysis of a range of study designs including clinical trials.

This post is offered on a part time (21.75 hours per week), fixed term contract until 5 October 2021.
