The Treatied Spaces Research Cluster within the Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education at the University of Hull will support one applicant for the current round of Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships. It invites interested Early Career Researchers make contact whose research plans link to the following themes: Indigenous & environmental history, diplomacy & sovereignty, water, food & resource politics, treaties in global environmental context.


Treatied Spaces brings together researchers, collaborators, and partners from around the world including academics, Indigenous groups, museums, activists, artists, NGOs and policy-makers with the aim of making Indigenous treaties and environmental concerns central to debates across disciplines. It manages grants totalling over 2 million GBP, hosts a British Academy Global Professor and is home to the new Cambridge University Press book series, Elements in Indigenous Environmental Research. 


Applicants with a proven track record of high-quality research will be selected for support on the basis of their fit with both the Leverhulme Trust's expectations and Cluster and Faculty strategic priorities. Leverhulme Fellows will undertake a significant piece of publishable work during their 36-month fixed-term appointment and each Fellow may request up to £6000 per annum in research expenses to further her or his research activities. The appointment is dependent on the successful award of the Leverhulme Fellowship.
