We are looking for an inspirational Head to lead and manage our School of Film and Media though its next exciting phase of development. You will motivate, support and work constructively with staff and students in setting a clear course of direction that will realise the potential of the School and develop its reputation. Reporting to the PVC / Head of College of Arts, you will also play an active role in managing the College, and have the opportunity to be involved in University-wide initiatives.

You will be a successful, established academic whose leadership skills and strategic vision will be complemented by a strong track record in delivering projects. Specialising in one of the disciplinary areas covered by the School, you will possess in-depth knowledge and experience of these disciplines, and be capable of appreciating and fostering both practical and theoretical approaches. You will have a strong profile in research or practice-as-research, good industry contacts, and evidence of external income generation. With past experience of major school or departmental leadership roles, you will be an excellent communicator who is committed to building an inclusive academic community. 

Taking on a permanent role in the School, you will serve as Head of School for 5 years, with the possibility of extension subject to mutual agreement.
