Applications are invited for the post of Teaching & Research Technician within the Department of Biology and Biochemistry. This hands-on post is an exciting opportunity to work in a varied and interesting environment, supporting and enhancing world-class teaching.

Working with other members of the technical team, academic staff and research staff, you will facilitate the preparation and smooth-running of laboratory classes and assist with the development of teaching-focused activities. You will be primarily responsible for supporting Biomedical Science laboratory practical sessions and will also be involved with Biology, Plant, Animal, Biochemistry and Microbiology sessions. 

Health and Safety is an absolute priority in our Department and alongside more practical duties, you will be expected to promote excellent H&S culture and contribute to a positive working environment. Effective time-management and organisational skills, efficiency, enthusiasm and a flexible approach to work are all essential in this role. Great communication skills and a capacity to problem solve are also key.

The ideal candidate will have technical experience within a biological teaching and/or research environment and a proven interest in Biomedical Science, Biochemistry or Cellular Biology.  Candidates with a Biological background (at degree level or equivalent) are encouraged to apply.
