You will work closely with library colleagues in your faculty team, and be expected to gain a broad understanding of resource provision across the faculty, to be able to support or deputise for your colleagues if required.  You will contribute to the development of library strategy and services, and participate in task and finish and special interest groups essential to support this.  Subject Librarians may take on additional areas of responsibilities, as appropriate to the role and library service requirements.

You should be innovative and collaborative in your work, with excellent communication skills in both in-person and online environments.  An ability to work accurately with numerical and financial data, and a range of IT systems and media will be essential.

As a Subject Librarian you will need to be able to manage your work activities online, and to work effectively remotely while current COVID-19 restrictions are in place.

The successful applicant will join a dedicated, professional team of Library staff committed to the continual development of services to support the University’s strategy: to deliver world-class research and teaching, extend the University’s international influence, and enrich the student experience.  We understand the importance of continued professional development for all Library staff in order to achieve this, and provide programmes of local opportunities and support involvement in appropriate external activities.

The closing date for applications is 17th Nov 2020 and interviews are expected to be held on 2nd Dec 2020.
