We are looking for a talented individual who has a passion for exploring new and emerging technologies and practices within research computing and wants to share their talent with an active and vibrant community. Strong candidates will have proven experience in delivering and maintaining high-quality HPC environments and in nurturing talent. 

The challenge

You will be joining the ARC team at an exciting time as the University has already started the migration of the HPC environment to the cloud.  This will be a pivotal role in advancing the University’s research capability and guiding our HPC community on this journey. We will be facing new challenges and you will be at the forefront of developing innovative and community-orientated solutions to help our research community thrive.

The position

As a Systems Developer in HPC, you will have the responsibility of ensuring that our HPC infrastructure and platforms are running seamlessly and are delivering value back into the University.

The successful candidate will have an innovative and agile approach, be an excellent communicator, have a strong team work ethic, and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, service-based environment. They will be able to work closely with colleagues across the University and apply in-depth expertise to develop integrated and automated workflows with a focus on performance and optimisation. They will contribute to developing knowledge and skills of an active and growing community through providing support and promoting the adoption of best practices, and delivering technical training courses.
