About You 

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. An established or promising research profile in primary teacher education and very good teaching experience on undergraduate/ postgraduate teacher education programmes is essential. A background in primary education with supporting qualifications and experience is essential. 

You will further enrich our students’ experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and experience. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development within primary and childhood education.

About the Role

We are constantly improving and enhancing our primary ITE curriculum. The postholder will support curriculum development across all primary ITE programmes to ensure that the curriculum is ambitious, carefully sequenced and underpinned by our commitment to inclusion and social justice. You will be required to work collegially with Programme leaders, Module Leaders, Subject Leaders and the Associate Head of Initial Teacher Education. 

In addition, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our primary and childhood education programmes, contributing to the delivery of our modules on areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience. We would particularly welcome candidates who could teach one or more primary foundation subjects.

You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department through the activities of one of our Research Units, and to meet the qualitative and qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework.
