Background and Context 

The Schools and Colleges Engagement Team (SCE) , within the Student Recruitment and Marketing Directorate, has institution-wide responsibility for undergraduate recruitment and outreach in the UK and works to build and nurture strong partnerships with schools, colleges and other agencies.

The team’s focus is to recruit students to the University, together with the development and management of outreach and widening participation initiatives on and off campus with targeted Schools and Colleges.

Schools and Colleges Engagement Assistant

The Schools and Colleges Engagement Assistant will be expected to assist and support the team members in the preparation and delivery of all recruitment and outreach activities both on and off campus.

Specifically, this will involve the post holder in general office duties to provide administrative support, including processing purchase orders and travel requests, maintaining accurate records, in the follow up and evaluation of some activities including routine report writing, in compiling manuals and other documents and publications for use in and by team members and in updating departmental web pages (as well as further ad hoc support).  The post holder will also assist with the recruitment of and regular contact with a team of student ambassadors and maintaining the student ambassador database to support school engagement activity; in organising campus tours for prospective students and parents; and occasionally representing the University by attending local, regional and national higher education and careers events.  

The work does occasionally involve some travel throughout the UK, spending time away from home and working evenings and weekends when required.
