The University of Nottingham seeks applications for a Clinical Research Fellowship (CRF) in Hepatology. This post has been specifically developed to deliver an innovative study to understand the psycho-socio-cultural and behavioural factors influencing engagement of multi-ethnic community with services focused on hepatitis B virus infection.

You will be attached to the Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre (NDDC) within the academic unit of Translational Medical Sciences, School of Medicine, University of Nottingham. You will be expected to register for, and undertake, a clinical MD/PhD with the University of Nottingham. Studentship fees will not be paid by the post but you will be supported to apply for separate funding if applicable. Specific and structured training will be offered in clinical research methodology tailored to you and your choice of project. You may undertake up to a maximum of two clinical training sessions in hepatology per week in the form of supporting ongoing research projects and programmes.

NDDC is one of the largest gastrointestinal (GI) and liver academic units in the country and provides a wide range of research opportunities. It hosts the GI and Liver Disorders theme of National Institute for Health Research funded Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR Nottingham BRC). GI & Liver Disorder theme is the largest of the six themes (including the cross-cutting theme) within the NIHR Nottingham BRC (£23.6M; 2017-22) awarded in partnership between University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post is offered on a full or part time basis from 01 January 2022 to 31 August 2024
