Working in the Research Services section of the Department of Research and Knowledge Exchange at the University of Brighton, your role will support the implementation of the University’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategic Plan. 

Your role will be to work closely with other colleagues, you will have specific responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the Research Culture and Environment agenda including researcher development and Equality Diversity and Inclusion.  You will develop, design and manage a suite of internal funding schemes and development opportunities designed to nurture the talent of our research active staff.   It will involve making recommendations and drafting research-related policy for approval by University Committees and senior managers includes horizon-scanning, competitor analysis and representing the University at external events.   

In order to be successful in this position, you should have: 

A good understanding of the issues facing Higher Education and the research environment Experience of developing policyA systematic approach, and be analytical with good attention to detailhave Excellent written and oral communication skills.
