Description :

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Project Manager, looking for a new and rewarding challenge?

The University of Lincoln has been awarded a £10.9m grant from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), which will be used to create the Lincoln Institute for Rural and Coastal Health (LIRCH). This will be the country’s first integrated and multi-disciplinary research institute dedicated to bringing together rural and coastal health and wellbeing research to help tackle the place-based inequalities experienced in these communities.

Our intention is for LIRCH to develop beyond this initial funding and become self-sustaining; to get there, we need a truly talented Project Manager to drive the initial set-up and then provide ongoing support to help the team ensure that the technical and financial deliverables are met.

You will need to have experience with financial and budgetary reporting, as well as research grant application processes, as you will lead the management and co-ordination of research project plans, risk registers, and financial forecasts throughout the lifetime of the awards, leading to the establishment of a project framework as well as standard operating procedures and processes.

We are looking for someone who will be able to work independently with minimal supervision, has a clear strategic focus, is able to influence at all levels, and is able to express detailed and complex technical information in terms understandable to lay people. If you have up-to-date knowledge of UK and EU funding guidelines and mechanisms, including Full Economic Costings, TRAC methodologies, and contractual and financial guidelines, this would also be of particular interest to us.

LIRCH will bring together various disciplines – including geography, community health care, and rural and coastal health – to create a multi-faceted approach to both rural and coastal health, meaning the work that you will do with us will have a significant impact on the lives of real people and communities.

If you would like further information or an informal discussion about this exciting opportunity, please contact Professor Mark Gussy, Global Professor in Rural Health and Social Care, at MGussy@lincoln.ac.uk.

In support of our commitment to developing colleagues by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion, applications for this opportunity will only be accepted from people who are currently employed by the University of Lincoln. We actively encourage applications from all colleagues across the University with the relevant skills and experience.

Closing Date: 17 Mar 2024

Department: Internal Only Vacancies

Salary: £37,099 per annum
Please note, this post is permanent and full time at 37 hours per week.
