We are currently recruiting to a Finance Manager role to join our National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Co-ordinating Centre team. This is a new role, reflecting our continued investment in our teams and funding work!

Our research helps turn discoveries into new or improved treatments, diagnostics, medical technologies and services providing those working in the NHS, public health, global health and social care with the evidence to better support patients, the public and people who need care.

What will you be doing?

You will be supporting the senior finance managers to provide advice on financial and contractual aspects of projects. This will be from the point a project is awarded funding all the way through until the project closes. You will also ensure that all financial records are kept updated and are accurate. You will:

Provide advice on financial and contractual aspects of new funding applications and on-going projectsEnsure adherence to NIHR funding rules and guidanceAnalyse and comment on financial aspects of project extension requests, budget virement requests and close-down plansTake responsibility for monitoring and maintaining financial records/reports to meet organisational and department of health and social care requirements

Who are we looking for?

The work that we do at NETSCC is quite a unique finance role and we are able to offer training to ensure you are able to undertake all elements of the role. The key skills we look for in a candidate are:

Relevant financial qualification or equivalent work experience- an accountancy qualification can be advantageous but not essential Confident in the use of MS Office Suite particularly ExcelGood Communication and interpersonal skillsFlexible approach to work and able to revaluate and reprioritise your work loadCollaborative worker Willingness to learn
