The University is seeking to second a senior academic colleague to a fixed-term role as Associate Director (External Relations), reporting to the Director of its Institute for Public Policy & Professional Practice (I4P).

The Role

External Relations - to support the work of I4P across the North West and the city regions of Merseyside and Greater Manchester and to work with members of the External Advisory Group.

The role will require an individual who is respected by academic colleagues, with the ability to integrate research and teaching, and with demonstrable experience of close collaborative working with other academics and professionals outside academia, evidenced through successful experience of joint working on funded research and/or knowledge exchange projects. Experience of contributing actively to the further development of their discipline through professional networks will also be important. Candidates will need to demonstrate their understanding of and commitment to the strategic objectives of I4P and, in particular, working with external groups and organisations across the North West as well as nationally.


This post will carry an honorarium (equivalent to an incremental point) and the Associate Director’s home department will receive some funding to buy them out of core activities for the duration of their secondment.
