Your understanding of facilities management will be welcome in this key role which ensures the smooth running of the university through the delivery of an effective estates management service. The Estates function plays a significant profile in the student experience so a strong blend of personal and professional qualities will be essential, particularly the ability to work constructively with a wide range of academic and administrative colleagues in pursuit of the university’s objectives and fulfilment of its strategy.
Responsibilities will include managing a team of staff to ensure the efficient delivery of the service, managing the site facilities and cleaning budgets, including keeping accurate records and responsibility for the safety and security of the sites.
To succeed in the role you will need demonstrable managerial and administrative experience in facilities management, credibility and influence to be able to lead, manage and motivate a team, the ability to solve problems and develop plans successfully and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of external individuals and organisations.
