Category: Admin/Clerical | Faculty/Division: Academic Services | School: Academic Services | Department: Academic Services | Location: City Centre Campus | Post Type: Full Time | Closing Date: 10 Sep 2017 | Are you looking for an opportunity to pursue a career in professional administration?  Can you lead and manage a team that is passionate about delivering exceptional services to students and staff?  In Academic Services at Birmingham City University we are re-setting the bar for performance. Our goal as a department is to be recognised not only for the quality of work that we do, but also as a great place to work and pursue a career.  Our work is fast paced, with high levels of demand all year round as we deliver against tight deadlines and stretching targets. You will need to be a creative thinker and relish problem solving. You must also be able to think outside the box whilst still understanding its size, shape and purpose.  What is vital is that you can demonstrate your commitment to professionalism and excellence, and have a track record of leading teams that deliver great results. Previous experience of working in a higher education setting is highly advantageous, but there may be exceptional candidates who do not have direct experience of higher education who can clearly demonstrate a high degree of relevance and transferability in their skills and experience.  We are looking to recruit a Head of Programme Operations on a Fixed Term Contract until 31st December 2017 (though this could be extended) in one of our four facilities, reporting directly to the Director of Faculty Administration, who will provide strong operational leadership and management of the Faculty’s programme support teams. For these positions, in-depth knowledge and experience of quality assurance and programme administration is essential as well as a substantial track record in change management and proactive problem solving. You must be analytical and methodical and also able to pick-up and quickly demonstrate proficiency in our technical systems and administrative processes. The post holder must be someone educated to degree level (or equivalent).  A postgraduate qualification (or comparable experience or sustained and substantial professional development) is preferable. Academic Services is dedicated to staff development.  In addition to the University’s extensive staff development offering we deliver our own ASPIRE programme focussed on supporting our team to excel.  You will receive a detailed induction, a buddy or mentor, a supportive 1:1 system, and an annual appraisal.  Most of all, you will be joining large, diverse, and supportive team. If you would be interested in the role, ensure you attach a copy of your CV and a Covering Letter. You are advised to remove personal details from these documents, including your name.
