The University of West London is a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals.

We are currently recruiting for a Website Content Producer to work within our busy and fast-paced Digital Team. Our website and digital media channels play a central role in connecting with current and prospective students to promote the University of West London as a higher education destination of choice.  This is an exciting role for an experienced digital media professional with excellent writing skills and a passion for creating engaging web content.

The successful candidate will work closely with four of the university’s academic departments to create online content that engages their audiences. This will include writing news articles about recent events, sourcing compelling photographs, and producing videos featuring academics and students. There will also be opportunities to work with the ever-growing range of digital engagement tools available, from producing webinars to commissioning content for blogs and vlogs.

Responsibilities will include using a Content Management System to update content on a daily basis and using web analytics tools to evaluate performance. The successful candidate will champion and apply best practice when writing for the web and advise others about how best to reach out to prospective students online. This will include optimising content for search engines and understanding accessibility issues.  The candidate will also play a role in producing content for social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The ideal candidate should have excellent writing skills, with particular expertise in writing for the web.  They should be able to convey complex information in a clear, concise and engaging manner for a variety of audiences and take a user-focused approach to content production.  

They will be highly organised and able to track regular changes on the university’s website through the academic year cycle.  Some project management experience would be beneficial as the candidate will take a project-driven approach to developing new areas of content.  Required technical skills include knowledge of content management systems and image editing software.
