Description :

We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic developer to join a team for 2 years to help with the continuous delivery of high value features to develop LUSI (Lancaster University Student Information), the sector leading in-house Student Records system used by Lancaster University.

LUSI is undergoing significant redevelopment from a Windows Forms suite of modules to a modern, responsive, dynamic web application and API underpinned by existing SQL Server databases. It interfaces with many other systems and supports key University business processes.

Teams within Corporate Information Systems work in a purpose-built computer centre on campus and have a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement and staff development.  You will focus on further development of LUSI as well as a variety of other web-based and desktop systems, contributing to our exciting “Digital Lancaster” plans to maximise the opportunity for the exploitation of digital technologies.

You must have experience of application development, preferably using the Microsoft platform, and an understanding of contemporary web and database technology.  Experience of delivering enterprise-level applications and building interfaces between disparate applications would be an advantage, as would experience of agile software development methods (e.g. Scrum).

You must have enthusiasm and a demonstrated capability for problem solving, developing new competencies, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and work well in a team.

If you would like further information and an opportunity to discuss the role, please contact Liz Shillito, Corporate Information Systems on +44 (0)1524 510132.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
